Gravel is a luxury perfume brand that was first founded in New York in 1957 by creator Michael Knudsen. The brand is known for its exclusive premium fragrances that are distinguished by their fine and timeless scent creations. The brand produces Eau de Parfum and nowadays they are absolutely wearable as unisex fragrances. The scent was very popular in the 1960s and was also worn by famous personalities such as Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. Michael B. Knudsen is the creator of GRAVEL COLOGNE. He faced many challenges to realize his dream of creating his own perfume. He began with his first creation in the 1950s. At that time, it was not yet apparent that he would develop a classic that would mark the beginning of over 60 years of perfume history with numerous fragrances.

Each scent reflects his extraordinary life journey. Born in Sweden (1911), Michael B. Knudsen embarked on the journey across the ocean to America in the 1920s. A young man who, like so many people of his generation, succumbed to the promises of the American Dream. It was the golden era of Hollywood and Knudsen, too, followed the allure of the film industry.

The principle of "quality down to the smallest detail" is also reflected in the product presentation. The perfume oil is produced in the south of France (Grasse) and is made in a small manufactory. Production is still very expensive and labor-intensive, as many rare and high-quality fragrance components are used. The filling is done by hand as well. The Gravel stones are also added to each bottle manually.
