Some afternoons don't feel like an event, but like a scene from a French movie. That's exactly how it was with HISTOIRES DE PARFUMS at 4D OUTFITTERS in Bregenz.

Scent in the air.
Lounge sounds in the background.
People with cocktails in hand.
Elegant suits next to casual streetwear fits.
Young people next to long-time fragrance collectors.
Curious glances between flacons, fine jewelry, and design objects.

And somewhere in the middle of it all:
Herbert Stricker.

Perfectly dressed as always.
Calm.
Charming.
Almost too calm for what had happened a few days earlier. Because shortly before the event, it wasn't clear at all if this afternoon would even take place.

Herbert had an accident.

Laceration.
Black eye.
Actually, exactly the kind of situation where almost anyone would have canceled nowadays.

Sick leave.
Rest.
Postpone.
Done.

But that's probably where the difference begins between someone who simply wears a suit – and someone who stands for something.

Herbert didn't agree immediately.
He wanted to see how he felt physically first.

Then, two days before the event:
"I'm coming."

And we really have to give him credit for that. Despite his injury, he traveled from Frankfurt to Bregenz to make this event possible.

The originally planned private talk had to be canceled. Some guests canceled their spots as a result. But precisely because of this, the entire afternoon suddenly took on a completely different energy.

Less pressure.
More conversations.
More genuine moments.

And perhaps that was the best thing about it: people had time.

Time to test.
Time to listen.
Time to discuss.
Time to truly experience genuine niche.

Because real niche doesn't work like fast food. And that's exactly what was discussed that afternoon.

Many people today believe they wear "niche." In reality, they often simply wear mass-niche with beautiful advertising and clean marketing.

Real niche is something completely different.

Real niche needs:
-Time
-Consultation
-Patience
-Experience
-and sometimes the courage not to understand something immediately

A fragrance from HISTOIRES DE PARFUMS doesn't work with a quick spray on a paper strip or directly into the cap.

And yet, that's exactly what happens constantly today.

Smell quickly.
Judge quickly.
Next TikTok quickly.
Next Reel quickly.

That's not luxury. That's fragrance drive-thru. Real niche is the opposite of that.

You have to sit down.
Wear it.
Feel it.
Discuss it.
Understand it.

And that's exactly what this afternoon was for.

The focus was, of course, THIS IS NOT A BLUE BOTTLE and the new creation SOLD OUT, which was presented at 4D OUTFITTERS.

And just like the fragrances themselves, the entire event felt:
French, luxurious, modern, and yet emotional.

DJ ILKØ provided the fitting boutique and lounge vibes. Especially strong: He specifically produced his own AI-generated soundtrack around THIS IS NOT A BLUE BOTTLE and Herbert Stricker, which we later used for stories and reels.

The sound felt like Paris Fashion Week meets futuristic fragrance art.

Fittingly, the AUGUST Cocktaileria Dornbirn, together with Hugo, took care of the mocktails. The drinks were color and taste-matched to the fragrances: SOLD OUT in blue with red details, Casentino in orange, and Giardini di Boboli in green. There was also a 4D OUTFITTERS cocktail that perfectly rounded off the afternoon.

And of course, there were also goodie bags worth over 100 Euros given to the guests. High-quality, surprising, and exactly the kind of detail that makes an event at 4D OUTFITTERS special.

In addition, there were three beautiful bouquets from SAGAWE from Lindau – in Electric Blue with red accents, matching the SOLD OUT fragrance. This small detail gave the store an even finer, more elegant touch.

And because 4D OUTFITTERS is not just about fragrance, this afternoon also had its very own jewelry moment. While discovering SOLD OUT on the skin and strolling through the boutique, tennis bracelets made of 18-karat gold – some set with over 10 to 20 carats of diamonds – glittered in the display cases. Small points of light that sparkled in all directions with every movement, giving the event that extra touch of luxury.

Fragrance, design, fine jewelry – everything had the same rhythm for a moment.

The boutique itself was completely redesigned and that afternoon was entirely dedicated to HISTOIRES DE PARFUMS. Everywhere, people were testing, discussing, laughing, and discovering.

People from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland moved through the store and immersed themselves in the world of HISTOIRES DE PARFUMS.

In addition, the entire Classic Parfums team, who had traveled specifically from Frankfurt and even stayed overnight in Vorarlberg, came to make this event happen with us.

You could feel the passion.
In every conversation.
In every consultation.
In every fragrance.

Of course, the raffle, which Herbert Stricker personally announced, was also a highlight.

It was also particularly nice that the HISTOIRES DE PARFUMS installation remained in the boutique for several days. This allowed many visitors to discover the fragrances, smell them, get advice, and take home one or two favorites even after the event.

That was exactly the goal: not just to briefly showcase HISTOIRES DE PARFUMS, but to bring it back into the spotlight as a visible brand. And that's exactly what happened.

And these are the moments that stick.

Not discounts.
Not loudness.
Not mass processing.

But real people.
Real conversations.
And genuine passion for fragrance.

That's what HISTOIRES DE PARFUMS stands for.

And that's what 4D OUTFITTERS stands for.

In the end, this afternoon felt less like a classic store event, but more like a small French fragrance world in the middle of Lake Constance.

P.S. After the event, we went with Herbert Stricker and the Classic Perfume Crew to Chen's in Bregenz – a place we ourselves really like. Between good food, relaxed conversations, and truly honest talks about business, fragrance, and new ideas, the evening suddenly became even more special.

Such conversations are rare. Especially in smaller cities like Bregenz, you don't meet people every day who are so open about experiences, developments, and the stories behind the scenes.

After dinner, we accompanied Herbert towards his hotel. We walked along the lake towards the festival grounds as Bregenz slowly grew quieter.

And that's where you sometimes realize what it's really all about:
Not just about fragrances.
Not just about luxury.
But about genuine encounters with people who stand for what they do.
