Questions and answers
Spicy-woody with a clear black-pepper bite, over earthy patchouli warmth and a dry shimmer reminiscent of oud.
- Despite its name, Akigalawood comes from no tree: it is made from a fraction of patchouli oil left over from its processing, transformed with enzymes from fermentation.
The starting material is patchouli oil, whose main constituent, patchoulol (C₁₅H₂₆O), makes up as much as about half of the oil; enzymes turn this mixture into a peppery-woody note.
