Questions and answers
Sparkling, bitter-fresh and ice-cold, with resinous juniper, lime zest and a bitter, fizzy finish.
- Tonic water glows blue under black light – the quinine in it turns invisible UV light into visible light.
Perfumers build the accord from juniper berry oil, whose main component is usually α-pinene, citrus notes such as lime and crisp, bitter-fresh materials for the fizz. The model is gin itself, which under EU law must taste predominantly of juniper.
