1740 was the year of birth of a noble Parisian named Donatien Alphonse François de Sade, who would become known to posterity simply as the Marquis de Sade. For this man, who was imprisoned several times for his indecent behavior, lust rhymed with literature, as is explicitly demonstrated by the numerous works he left behind. The free-spirited writer would probably have appreciated the boldness of this spicy forest fragrance, whose notes of bergamot and davana sensualis are further refined by leathery patchouli.
