Green meets white, colour meets fire. A baguette-cut green tourmaline, accompanied by the sparkle of fine diamonds, on a ring of polished yellow gold. On your hand it looks like a small still life – elegant, fresh and full of life.

What is tourmaline?

Tourmaline is the colour artist among gemstones: hardly any other stone appears in so many nuances. A curious property gives it away: when it gets warm, it becomes electrically charged – Dutch traders used this to draw ash out of their meerschaum pipes, hence its old name “Aschentrekker”. Hardness 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale.
