What is rose quartz?

Rose quartz is a pink quartz with a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale. Its delicate colour comes from microscopically small inclusions within the crystal. In Greek and Roman mythology it was associated with Eros and Aphrodite – no wonder it is still regarded as the stone of love today.
