What is rose quartz?

Rose quartz owes its gentle colour to tiny inclusions that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Even in antiquity it was considered the stone of love: the Greeks and Romans associated it with Eros and Aphrodite. As a quartz, it reaches a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.
