Is there an essential oil from pineapple?
No oil is obtained from the fruit for perfumery. The pineapple in perfume is an accord: a reconstruction from several aroma materials, above all fruity esters such as allyl caproate and ethyl butyrate.
What does pineapple smell like in perfume?
Sweet, juicy and fruity. Allyl caproate provides the typical pineapple character, ethyl butyrate a bright, fruity opening. Both molecules also occur in the real fruit.
How long does pineapple last on the skin?
Pineapple is a typical top note and fades comparatively quickly, as its fruity esters are highly volatile. It stays noticeable for longer when warmer notes support it. The best test is on your own skin: with every bottle of 30 ml or more we include a 2 ml sample of the same fragrance.
