Questions and answers
Velvety, creamy and juicy-fruity, with a milky-soft, almost skin-close sweetness.
- “Aldehyde C-14”, the classic peach aroma chemical, is not an aldehyde at all but a lactone – with only 11 carbon atoms instead of 14.
Peach aroma is shaped by lactones such as γ-decalactone, which the fruit forms from fatty acids; in perfumes γ-undecalactone imitates this effect.
