What does Ikarus by Olakala smell like?
Ikarus smells bright and floral, warm and woody-leathery. Orange blossom and bergamot open the fragrance like sunlight on skin, jasmine, violet and rose merge at the heart, and the base of musk, oakmoss, vanilla and leather provides calm depth. The exciting part is the contrast: light above, shadow below.
The name fits better than you might think. In the Greek myth, the inventor Daedalus builds wings of feathers and wax for himself and his son Icarus to escape from Crete. Icarus flies too close to the sun, the wax melts and he plunges into the sea. Olakala deliberately tells only the beginning: the moment when longing turns into movement. The orange blossom is the sun, the leather the skin that feels warm just before take-off.
As an Extrait de Parfum, Ikarus is highly concentrated, yet thanks to the bright flowers it never feels heavy. That makes it the most accessible of the three leather fragrances: one you can wear to the office and don't need to change in the evening. It is designed as a unisex scent; the rose and violet make it interesting for many women, the oakmoss for many men.
What does Neighbour's Cherries smell like?
Neighbour's Cherries smells of sour and sweet cherries, wrapped in saffron, slowly turning into smoke and leather over a dark forest of wood. Imagine a cherry orchard at night where someone has lit a fire. This is not a cute fruity scent, this is cherry with a secret.
Saffron is the secret star here. It links the fruit to the leather, because saffron and leather are old allies in perfumery: both have a warm, slightly dry side. Neighbour's Cherries is best suited to the cold season: autumn evenings, get-togethers with friends, long walks in the fog. If you'd like to get to know it first, go for the 50 ml.
What does Oudysseus smell like?
Oudysseus smells fruity, smoky and warm-sweet. It starts with an explosion of cherry, raspberry, pear and blackcurrant with a dark rose facet. At the heart, sandalwood, patchouli and leather form a velvety, smoky texture, complemented by coffee, chocolate and benzoin. Vanilla, caramel, amber and musk remain at the end.
The name plays on Odysseus, the hero of Homer's Odyssey, who needed ten years to get home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. Accordingly, the fragrance is built as a journey in chapters: berries, then smoke, then dessert. Of the three leather fragrances it is the loudest, an evening scent for dinners, bars and every situation in which you like to be noticed.

Always test leather fragrances on your skin and give them at least half an hour. The leather sits in the base and only shows once the top notes have faded. And: no more than two fragrances at a time, one per wrist.
