Is there raspberry essential oil for perfume?
Not to any meaningful extent: no essential oil can be obtained economically from the delicate fruit. Perfumers therefore rebuild the scent as an accord. At its centre there is usually synthetic raspberry ketone.
Why does raspberry often smell powdery in perfume?
Besides raspberry ketone, α- and β-ionone contribute to the raspberry scent. These molecules also shape the scent of violet. This creates the fine, powdery-floral side of raspberry.
How long does raspberry last on the skin?
As a fruity accord, raspberry usually opens a fragrance. The molecule raspberry ketone itself, however, evaporates slowly, so a fruity, powdery impression can linger for longer. The best test is on your own skin: with every bottle of 30 ml or more we include a 2 ml sample of the same fragrance.
