What is the difference between lavender and lavandin?
True lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) smells fine, floral and soft. Lavandin is a hybrid of true lavender and spike lavender: it yields more oil but smells more camphorous and austere.
What does fougère mean?
Fougère means “fern” and describes a fragrance family built on lavender, coumarin and usually oakmoss. It goes back to “Fougère Royale” from 1882 and still shapes many men’s fragrances today.
Is lavender only for men’s fragrances?
No. Lavender is the heart of classic men’s fragrances, but with vanilla, amber or flowers it works just as well in women’s and unisex fragrances. It is best to test on your own skin: with every bottle from 30 ml we include a 2 ml sample of the same fragrance.
