Liquides Imaginaires, "imaginary liquids", sets out to return to the essence of perfume and its almost magical, transformative power. Each fragrance captures a state: a phase of life, a desire, a strength. Something you can carry with you like a precious memory.
Philippe Di Méo is the creative mind behind the brand: a versatile spirit with a weakness for words, taste and everything to do with water. Most of the house's ideas spring from his curiosity and his feel for stories. And every single fragrance here tells one.
The birth of the brand: a scent made from holy water
According to the brand's story, the idea was born in 2011 around Paris Design Week. Philippe Di Méo was given, so to speak, a blank canvas and had an unusual idea: to create a fragrance around "L'Eau Bénite", holy water. His mission was to revive the spiritual dimension of perfume, the age-old notion that scent creates a connection to the gods.
Liquides Imaginaires was officially founded in 2012. Some of the very first fragrances, Fortis among them, are still available today.

Liquides Imaginaires connects three layers: ancient legends, the present, and the question of who we want to become. The result is fragrances that feel a little like poetry in motion. Like smoke enveloping the wearer.
The fragrances pay tribute to ancient myths but retell them. Morning Star, for example, is dedicated to the morning and evening star, and Âme de Fleur is a homage to the anemone and its legend.

The word goes back to the Latin "per" (through) and "fumare" (to smoke). Originally it referred to the fumes of burning aromatic substances, exactly the ritual origins Liquides Imaginaires draws on.
- The first perfumer was called Tapputi
A cuneiform tablet from Mesopotamia, dating from the 2nd millennium BC, mentions a perfume maker named Tapputi. She is considered one of the world's first recorded chemists and distilled flowers, oil and calamus.
- Fortis is a scent from day one
Together with Sancti and Tumultu, Fortis is among the brand's earliest fragrances and was released as early as 2011, before the official founding. At 4D OUTFITTERS it is still available today.
- The morning star and the evening star are one
In Greek mythology, Phosphorus, the morning star, and Hesperus, the evening star, were two separate figures. In fact both are the same planet: Venus. Morning Star tells the story of exactly this fusion.
