The essence of now: NEW NOTES Extrait de Parfum
Cherry with milk. A passion fruit cocktail. Caramel that smells of vanilla. Sounds like a dessert menu, but it is perfume, and in the strongest form there is. New Notes from Milan makes nothing but Extrait de Parfum and cheerfully ignores the old question "for her or for him?".
- New Notes is a young niche perfume label, founded by HIC Beauty in Milan in the early 2020s.
- Every fragrance is an Extrait de Parfum and deliberately gender-neutral.
- The idea: natural raw materials meet modern aroma molecules, often with a playful, gourmand twist.
- At 4D OUTFITTERS you will find New Notes online and in our boutique in Bregenz.
The essence of now: what makes New Notes different
New Notes sees itself as a new generation of Extrait de Parfum. The brand combines selected natural raw materials with cutting-edge molecules that classic perfumery simply did not have. The result: blends with a slightly subversive edge.
Familiar accords are rethought, mirrored and remixed until something new emerges. No retro, no clone, just fragrance in the present tense. Which is exactly why the brand calls it the scent of the present.
Our New Notes favourites
These four extraits show nicely what New Notes is all about:
- Latte di Cherry: cherry meets creamy milk. The name says it all, really.
- Cocktail Maracuja: passion fruit that sounds like holidays and a bar stool.
- Caramelo Vanilla: caramel and vanilla, for anyone who likes it warm and soft.
- Musk Complexity: musk in several layers, from the Hologram Collection.

Unisex and intense: the collections
New Notes designs its fragrances to be gender-neutral. Whether you wear Latte di Cherry or your partner does is decided by the nose, not the label. Read more in our article Unisex perfumes: the new fragrance trend for everyone.
As Extraits de Parfum, the fragrances are highly concentrated. According to the brand, they are also formulated with the environment in mind. At 4D OUTFITTERS you will find fragrances from several lines:
- Black Collection: the brand's classics, from Latte di Cherry to Osmanto Shock.
- Hologram Collection: just as a hologram gives depth to a flat image, this line layers different facets of the same note. The result feels kaleidoscopic and three-dimensional.
- Modern Liquid Collection: the newer creations such as Cherry Prosecco, Magico Safrano and Erotika Maximale.
The secret of the perfect fragrance: your skin
A perfume never smells the same on two people. Skin chemistry, warmth and moisture change how a fragrance unfolds and how far it projects. With New Notes, your skin is the final, decisive ingredient.
Our tip: always test a fragrance on your skin, not just on a paper strip, and give it a few hours. How to apply perfume properly is explained in 10 tips on how to apply perfume. And if you like to combine: the playful New Notes accords are wonderful for perfume layering.
Curious facts about New Notes
Things you probably didn't know
- Extrait means more scent in the bottle
An Extrait de Parfum contains roughly 15 to 30 per cent aromatic compounds, typically around 20 per cent. An Eau de Parfum is usually around 15 per cent, an Eau de Toilette around 10 per cent.
- The passion fruit has a pious name
In the 15th and 16th centuries, Spanish missionaries saw symbols of the Passion of Christ in the passion flower: the corona of filaments stood for the crown of thorns, the three stigmas for the three nails. Hence the name of the fruit that stars in Cocktail Maracuja.
- A twelve-year-old made vanilla affordable
In 1841 Edmond Albius, an enslaved boy of about twelve on the island of Réunion, discovered a quick way to pollinate vanilla flowers by hand. Almost all vanilla in the world is still hand-pollinated using his principle today.
- Musk and its racy name
The word musk goes back to the Sanskrit "muṣka", meaning "testicle", because the scent gland of the musk deer was thought to resemble one. Today practically all musk used in perfumery is synthetic, and trade in natural musk is controlled under the CITES convention.
- The hologram won a Nobel Prize
Physicist Dennis Gabor invented holography in the late 1940s and received the Nobel Prize for it in 1971. The word comes from Greek: "holos" means "whole", "graphē" means "writing". New Notes' Hologram Collection borrows exactly this idea of the "whole picture".
