Shopping on Lake Constance: Perfume, Jewellery & Design
Kornmarktstraße 7, Bregenz – just a few steps from Lake Constance. Small enough for genuine advice, selective enough for people who are looking for something special.
- 4D OUTFITTERS is a boutique in Bregenz on Lake Constance and an online shop that ships across Europe.

- Fragrances are presented to you personally – for in-depth advice, it is worth booking an appointment.
- Online: a sample with every fragrance order, free shipping from € 200, 14-day right of return.
Reimagined: from gift address to boutique
If you knew us in the early days, you may remember lots of small gift ideas. Since our redesign in 2021/2022 we have deliberately focused: fewer trinkets, more depth. Today, four worlds take centre stage – and in each of them we only carry what genuinely excites us.
Niche perfume: fragrances with a story
The heart of the boutique is our perfume wall. Here you will find niche fragrances you won't smell on every street corner – from Italian opulence at Xerjoff and the British grandeur of Roja Parfums to the courtly elegance of Parfums de Marly, Nishane from Istanbul and the French house SORA DORA.
Our fragrances are not self-service: we present them to you personally, tell you the story behind them and share tips on application, longevity and combinations. For an in-depth, undisturbed fragrance consultation, we recommend booking an appointment.
Fine jewellery: real gold, natural diamonds
When it comes to jewellery, we make no compromises: we carry only real gold, natural mined diamonds and high-quality gemstones – from delicate necklaces and earrings to engagement rings. Discover our fine jewellery online, too. We deliberately do not stock lab-grown diamonds. To learn more about the weight of a diamond, read our article on carat, the first of the 4Cs.
Christmas ornaments: glass with a soul
When the days grow dark, things start to sparkle here: mouth-blown, hand-painted Christmas ornaments by Inge Glas from Upper Franconia turn any tree into a small museum. You can also find our full range of Christmas ornaments online. How much craftsmanship goes into a single bauble is revealed in our article on exceptional glass Christmas ornaments.
Furniture and home accessories: design that stays
A side table by Kartell (available in our Bregenz boutique), a porcelain sculpture by Bosa, a statement piece by Jonathan Adler: our small furniture, lamps and home accessories are for people who don't furnish their homes off the peg. Curious who is behind Bosa's playful birds? Read our portrait Who is Jaime Hayon?
Lake Constance is so large that, because of the curvature of the Earth, the water surface between Konstanz and Bregenz bulges by around 41.5 metres. That is why you cannot see the Bregenz shore from the shore in Konstanz.

Curiosities about Lake Constance and our worlds
What you probably didn't know
- A lake without a border
Germany, Austria and Switzerland have never agreed on a common border for the Upper Lake (Obersee). Depending on the legal view, the open water belongs to all the bordering states jointly – and in everyday life it works perfectly well.
- James Bond in Bregenz
In spring 2008, scenes for "Quantum of Solace" were filmed on the lake stage of the Bregenz Festival. Today the grandstand seats almost 7,000 spectators.
- The poor man's bauble
Legend has it that in 1847 a glassblower in Lauscha blew the first glass baubles because he could not afford apples and nuts for his tree. What is documented is an order book from 1848 – with an order for six dozen "Christmas baubles".
- Silver for the shine
From 1870, silver nitrate gave baubles their mirror-like gleam – the same principle used to make mirrors. Before that, a tin-lead alloy that was harmful to health was used.
- Walking across the lake
A "Seegfrörne", when Lake Constance freezes over completely, is extremely rare. The last one was in 1963 – people walked across the ice from shore to shore.
