Jeremy Fragrance: From Casting-Band Singer to Fragrance Phenomenon – Career, Fragrance One & Controversies

“POWER!” – few words have shaped the fragrance world of recent years quite so loudly. Behind it stands a man from Oldenburg who carried perfume out of the niche and into the timelines of millions: Jeremy Fragrance. A portrait between success, staging and controversy – and a case for what fragrance means once the camera is off.

In short
  • Jeremy Fragrance’s legal name is Daniel Schütz (born Średziński), born in 1989 in Oldenburg, Germany.
  • Since 2014 he has presented fragrances on YouTube, later mainly on TikTok – with millions of followers.
  • His own brand, Fragrance One, began with a Kickstarter campaign: target €25,000, result almost €800,000.
  • At 4D OUTFITTERS we focus on niche perfume with a signature – for example from LEN Fragrance and Roja Parfums.

From casting band to perfume bottle

Daniel Średziński was born in Oldenburg in 1989. Before he became “Jeremy Fragrance”, he performed as “Jeremy Williams”: from 2008 to 2010 he was a member of the casting band Part Six – the big breakthrough never came. From 2014 he concentrated on presenting perfumes on YouTube, took the name almost everyone knows him by today, and turned himself into a brand.

The TikTok explosion: why suddenly everyone was talking about perfume

A loud sound, a dramatic pose, a whiff of fragrance – and suddenly all of social media was talking about a guy reviewing perfumes. By the end of 2023, around 7.3 million people followed him on TikTok alone. Whether you like his style or not: he made perfume accessible to an audience that had barely talked about top, heart and base notes before. When perfume goes viral, it is more than marketing – it is pop culture.

Fragrance One: from crowdfunding to a collection of his own

For his own brand, Jeremy launched a Kickstarter campaign: €25,000 was meant to be enough – it became almost €800,000. The first fragrance, Office for Men (2019), was composed by Alberto Morillas, one of the most successful perfumers in the world. Not an artistic niche drama, but a confident, clean signature scent.

The collection has since grown to include further fragrances such as Date for Men, Black Tie and Most Masculine. Besides Morillas, fragrance databases also link Honorine Blanc, among others, to the brand.

The recipe for success: instead of “vetiver, musk, ambergris”, Jeremy says “sexy for a date” or “perfect for the office”. That strikes the right tone with an audience that chooses fragrance by occasion rather than by pyramid.

Attitude, faith and controversy

By his own account, Jeremy was raised strictly Catholic and describes himself as a believer – a theme he openly weaves into his content. His appearances polarise: in 2022 he voluntarily left the TV show “Promi Big Brother” after a few days. In December 2023 he posted Instagram stories from a gala of the New York Young Republican Club at which Donald Trump spoke; Sky Deutschland subsequently pulled the documentary series “Jeremy Fragrance – Power, Baby!” from its programme. Critics call his persona absurd, fans love exactly that energy. Both are part of the Jeremy Fragrance phenomenon.

Fragrance culture on Lake Constance – where luxury means advice

I’m Giovanni, aka PERFUME.GIO, co-founder of 4D OUTFITTERS in the heart of Bregenz, the capital of Vorarlberg, right on Lake Constance. Here, where Austria, Germany and Switzerland meet, it is not only cultures that come together – but worlds of fragrance, too.

For us, luxury doesn’t start with a price tag but with time: time to smell, time to advise, time to understand what a fragrance wants to say. Hundreds of niche fragrances, dozens of brands – but where to begin?

Our advice is intuitive, personal and honest. Online or in store: we first look at what you already wear – and build from there. Dupes? Not with us. But if you love tuberose, we’ll show you true tuberose masterpieces. If you’re looking for something completely new, we’ll take the journey with you – often five or six fragrances, a little fresh air, a sip of water … are enough, and you’ll feel which scent is yours. Always straight onto the skin. Always in the here and now.

Spray. Sniff. Forget? Why perfume deserves more

A trend has crept into the fragrance world that genuinely bothers us – “cap spraying”. You pick up a bottle, spray into the cap, take a quick sniff, put the cap back on – and move on to the next scent. Oils drip down the glass, labels peel off, testers get sticky. And in the end? The perfumery looks like a beauty fast-food joint.

No wonder some boutiques now only offer testers under supervision. What gets lost: the real experience. The calm. The curiosity. The time a perfume deserves. How to move through a niche perfumery relaxed and in style is covered in our boutique etiquette guide.

Because perfume needs skin. A fragrance needs a few minutes to unfold: the top notes open, the heart becomes noticeable, the base shows whether a scent will stay. Deciding in seconds means deciding against depth. A real fragrance experience is like a good conversation – you have to listen, feel and be able to wait. How to apply it properly is what I show you in my 10 tips.

So: less cap, more skin. Less selfie, more soul.

When fragrance is more than a show: two bottles that show what niche means

Lost in Paris – Roja Parfums
Roja Dove, British master perfumer and former “Professeur de Parfum” at Guerlain, created a gourmand work of art with Lost in Paris: juicy oranges caramelised in butter and brown sugar, with a sweet rum note on a base of vanilla, bourbon and amber. More sweet temptations await in our gourmand guide.

Say Sakura – LEN Fragrance
With Say Sakura, LEN founder Jelena von Olnhausen tells the legend of Sakura and Yohiro: maraschino cherry, champagne, plum and amaretto meet cherry blossom, saffron, iris, incense, cashmere wood, tobacco and vanilla. Unusual, modern and long-lasting on the skin. Read more about the brand in our LEN portrait.

Roja Dove – a master perfumer of our time

Roja Dove is no bit-part player. He joined Guerlain in 1981, stayed for almost 20 years, was dubbed “Professeur de Parfum” there and in 2004 opened his Haute Parfumerie on the sixth floor of Harrods. His compositions rely on exceptional raw materials and a clear signature. More in our Roja odyssey.

True craftsmanship can’t be copied

Brands that only chase trends often lack the depth found in fragrances like these. Copies exist – but behind Lost in Paris or Say Sakura there is an attitude, a story and a signature of their own. That is true niche: quality, creativity, authenticity.

When the lights go out, the scent remains

Jeremy Fragrance is a media phenomenon – loud, staged, carefully thought through. He has got countless people excited about perfume for the very first time. Those who then want to smell more deeply will discover the stories behind the bottles: the people, the raw materials, the signature. Because in the end what remains is a bottle whose aura lives on even without the spotlight.

At 4D OUTFITTERS, every fragrance you order comes with a sample of it, and via the order note in your cart you can request up to four more free samples – perfect for testing niche perfume calmly on your own skin.
